WillowWood’s Business Update in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
As the world responds to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we at WillowWood remain focused on protecting the health and safety of our employees, clinical customers, prosthetic patients, and communities around the country.
We have a cross-functional leadership team closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation, including guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, WillowWood is following social distancing, shelter-in-place, and essential-travel-only mandates by state and local governments and complying with all guidance.
Given that most patients have limited ability to travel to clinics for essential needs only, and are postponing appointments or using virtual consultations whenever possible, a good number of our clinical partners have moved their staff to work-from-home arrangements or engaged in temporary closure of clinics for patient and workforce safety. Hence, across WillowWood we will be furloughing a significant number of our team members commensurate with maintaining our service levels in this challenging environment. As the COVID-19 situation improves, WillowWood expects to bring our employees back in order that we can best serve our customers.
No different to many in O&P, we are making many tough choices to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, and to maintain the continuity of our business. We appreciate the commitment and dedication we have seen across the industry during these unprecedented times and hope we will be returning to full capacity soon.
